Solaire Team wins Fabtech Basketball League 2017
Logistics Team lost 101-94 to the Solaire Team in the championship game held last Sunday, 19 November 2017, at the Tagaytay Highlands Sports Center. Benjie Monilla was hailed the Most Valuable Player with 34 points in the final game. On the other hand, Quelveen Salting, Tom De Mesa, Jose Cristoria, Ron Tabares, and Louie de Asis were among the Mythical Five of the league.
The management initiated the company-wide basketball league as part of the health and wellness program of the company which aims not only to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship but also to advocate a healthy lifestyle among its employees. Said event was participated by 10 teams from Fabtech Group of Companies and two other teams from our sub-contractors Halton and LindenStrauss.
The company recognizes that playing sports is a key strategy for reducing stress because the body is able to release feel-good endorphins while doing so. Moreover, it also contributes to mental health, helping to prevent depression and increase self-esteem and body image. Lastly, it also benefits individuals in the social aspect by strengthening and developing friendships with teammates.
