Two of the most common stainless steel types we use in our local fabrication projects are Stainless Steel 304 and Stainless Steel 316. Here’s what you need to know:

Stainless Steel 304 – Best for Residential and Indoor Use

● The most widely used stainless steel in homes and kitchens

● Contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel

● Resistant to rust and staining under normal indoor conditions

● Used in residential kitchen systems, countertops, and fixtures

● Cost-effective and easy to work with for general steel fabrication

Stainless Steel 304 is the standard material we use across many Fabtech Steel projects — from private residences to the HORECA industry — as long as the environment doesn't involve direct exposure to saltwater or corrosive chemicals.

Stainless Steel 316 – Ideal for Coastal, Commercial, and Corrosive Settings

● Contains 2-3% molybdenum, making it more resistant to chlorides and saltwater

● Designed to withstand marine environments, high humidity, and harsh chemicals

● Ideal for resorts, commercial kitchens, and outdoor equipment

Why We Used SS316 in Amanpulo

For our stainless steel kitchen fabrication project in Amanpulo Resort, corrosion was a serious concern. The beachfront location meant constant exposure to salty air and moisture conditions that could easily degrade standard stainless steel.
